Was there anything to not love about this book? Probably it’s only fault was that it was TOO SHORT!!!
This book had basically everything I want in a novel. A tough, alpha, protective, vulnerable, sexy, dirty-talking, strong hero and a fiesty, quirky, stubborn, witty, strong, kick-ass heroine.
Literally from the first page, I was hooked! Even her name is intriguing..“Story” like how cool is that! The story (haha) unfolded wonderfully, where both the main characters were woven together in this web, supported by many secondary characters.
The back story on Daniel was tragic and heartbreaking! After being thrust into Hostage Negotiation he meets Story’s dad who mentors him, and is basically responsible for the type of man he is today (aside from the womanizing)
Story’s relationship with her father has been strained for years, but after getting devastating news from her fiancee, she gets news that he’s had a heart attack, and she races to his side.
This is where they meet, and WHOA!!The sparks threw off from there, and continued increasing from there! Seriously, they were so hot, but more, there was an emotional build between these two characters, which I loved!
This is actually my first Tessa Bailey novel, and won’t be my last! Great writing, storyline, characters and depth!
